Lenght of video and Resolutions
Instagram Reels have limit of 30 second, the best aspect ratio for reel video is 9:16, users complain that Instagram reduces vedio quailty which is very annyoing to people.
5Youtue shorets has maximum limit of 60 seconds maximum upload quality of shorts is 1080p which is higher than reels
Music
Instagram reels has almost every music in their music library plus there is no issue of copyright Instagram has variety of filters on their platform , but Youtube doesnt have all original music and if you use any other music outside YouTube music library you might get a copyright .
REACH
Instagram has 1 Billion Monthly Active Users you can get a great reach you just have to use right hastags, YouTube has 2.3 Billion active users but most of the YouTube users like long form content rather than short video.but YouTube is putting constant effort to promote growth of shorts and its still in Beta version.
there is no debate that it's easier to get your audience on Instagram reels but Youtube subscribers are highly engaging and can give you lot of profit
Monetization
Reels has currently no option of monetization but you can earn a lot through brand promotions and collabrations, YouTube shorts also dosen't have monetization
but YouTube subscriber are really better but tougher to get as compared to YouTube, Instagram has mostly bots so once they have subscribed your channel you can easily earn through long-form content . both the platforms are developing monetization policy for short videos.
Some differences between YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
• YouTube Shorts has dislike button but Instagram Reels dont have so its easier to know wether your audience liking or not. While instagram says they dont want to spread hate they just want to spread Love.
• YouTube shorts doesnt contain such vareity of AR filters and music as compared to Instagram Reels.
