Social media : Boon or Curse

Social media is a greatest invention of all time , while it's also a strong manipulative tool. There's a huge debate on this topic today we are going to understand what are most dangerous and most powerful uses of social media.

Many experts has called smartphones smart manipulative tool and according to some researches, Around world there are 3.96 billion people on soical media out of 4.67 billion internet users 84% are active on social media.

In my opinion soical media is a most powerful and manipulative + marketing tool , It gives you lots of power . But remember a famous dialogue from Spiderman movie "Great Powers comes with Great Responsibilities".

The Teenagers are the most vulnerable group on social media because of Thier less knowledge and experience it's very easy to manipulate them. Teenagers mostly prefer Instagram and Snapchat. But that doesn't mean adults can't be manipulated well most of companies try to manipulate adults because they are the one who buys their products.

Here are some dangerous affects of Social media On Us.

• Addictive :- Social media platforms and companies are hiring experts to understand your behaviour and they are focusing on  making an algorithm on basis of your behaviour, the A.I knows your behaviour more than you, So they silently making  algorithms which will make you addict. To understand about it you must know about dopamine. 
  
  
  

Dopamine is a chemical which is released in your brain when you do something which makes you happy. So the A.I algorithm will show you posts photos which make you happy and release dopamine , but that's not harmful being happy is a good thing but in a long time it makes you addict, similarly like nicotine a ciggrate addict will consume 1 ciggrate daily but within a week he start taking 2 and in a month he will be converted into chain smoker. That's realy much dangerous. Similarly you will spend 1 hour dialy within a week you start spending 2 and 3 hours many teenagers spends 8 hours daily on internet and soical media. It's a dangerous trap to step into.

• Fake world and comparison :-  I call social media a fake world because we just post our achievements, nobody literally no one post that how much they worked hard for that achievements, everybody posts good things there is nothing bad . People exaggerate things well you don't know reality people thing they are useless they compare someone who has millions of followers but we need to understand we all are unique and have different situations.

• Social isolation :- 

According to research people who use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn. Are more socially isolated than others who don't. Sometimes we like our social media freinds more than our real freinds. soical media just ends face to face interactions. We became so much habitual of it that we start hating real interactions.

• Influenced by Hate Propaganda :- 

According to Washington Post India's communal hate has being increased since 2014, Well the hate seeds are planted by British in India but after 2014 it kept increasing day by day. Also according to some reports Social media has played a vital role on Trumps victory in 2017 also in 2020 elections many Social media platforms has stopped propaganda by marking tweets disputed etc and it resulted in Trump loses the election.

• Rather than Propaganda social media can also spread awareness.

• It Gives everyone equal opportunity to show their talent.

• It reduces cost of marketing and PR

• It helps to make a connected world ( making world small)

• It helps many people to learn new skills and be motivated.

• It helps to be connected with freinds and families .

• Made world on your fingertips.

How to avoid disadvantages of social media.

• Use a tracker app which helps you to track social media activity.

• Keep your notifications Off.

• Learn to distinguish between Propaganda and Truth 

• Report Content which promotes hate , bullying and harrassment.

• Use it to build a network of people around you and in your profession.

 By evaluating pros and cons of Social media platforms , We came to understand that it depends on you social media is good or bad.

Fire🔥cooks food for you, But it also burns it totally on you how you use it . Nuclear Power can kill millions, but it can also light a bulb. It totally on you how you use it . 

If you use it right way social media is a blessing but if you use it in a wrong way it's a Curse , We have no Danger with Gun or bullet. Danger is always with the man who is holding the gun so always remember 

Soical media is a tool to connect with the People you can also Use to control people. Choice is yours
